Supervisors return to morgue discussion

The Allamakee County Board of Supervisors heard Monday about establishing a Memorandum of Understanding for Allamakee County and the Veterans Memorial Hospital for county morgue space. The board was told Monday morning that there is already an MOU with an existing hospital in the region. “So, we do currently an MOU with Winneshiek County for the county morgue,” said Sheriff Clark Mellick. VMH’s CEO Michael Coyle asked about responsibility, for example what might happen if a technical failure such as cooling system took place.
