Memorial Day speaker, Dennis Koenig, pays tribute to those who served during Viet Nam war

The annual Memorial Day program was held Monday, May 25 in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul Lutheran Church. The event is organized each year by the American Legion Post 518.

Leigh Rekow was the master of ceremonies and Pastor Gary Catterson gave the invocation and benediction.

The Postville High School band played patriotic music and provided buglers for the playing of taps at the end of the program.  Army veteran Dennis Koenig was the featured speaker. A gun salute honoring fallen service men and women was held at the conclusion of the service as those assembled moved to the St. Paul parking lot.
