Postville Pool, Park, and Rec Board raising funds for new playground equipment

Lull’s Park in Postville, which is also home to the Hall Roberts’ Swimming Pool, has been a gathering place for local residents, their families and visitors to the area for decades. Children of all ages have enjoyed playing and climbing on the equipment, swinging on the swings and riding the teeter totter. However, with some of the equipment being over 50 years old, safety has become an issue as children run and play throughout the park.

With the well-being of the youth and their families, who use the park, in mind, the Postville Pool, Park and Recreation Board is beginning a campaign to purchase and install new, safe structures at the park.

They are inviting the public to come to their playground fundraiser, Saturday, January 31 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Tri-City Golf Club.

Those attending will be able to check out the new, exciting playground equipment designs as well as the safe and fun climbing structures.

Family Bingo will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and the meal will be available from 4:30-6 p.m. for a free will donation.

In conjunction with the event, the committee is also hosting a silent auction on their Facebook page between now and 6 p.m. on Jan. 31. For more information about the silent auction or any details about the fundraiser, contact any member of the Pool or Park Board or call City Hall.
