Veterans Day program to be held Thursday, November 8

The annual Veterans Day Program will be held Thursday, November 8 at 10 a.m. in the Postville High School Gym. Due to the fact that Veterans Day falls on a Sunday and there is no school on Friday, the annual celebration has been moved to Thursday. The annual program is organized by the student council.

All veterans and their families are invited to gather at 9:15 a.m. in the Fine Arts Lobby where they will be treated to coffee and rolls.

The featured speaker this year is Tim Rupard a United States Army Veteran, who will be sharing his experiences and reflect on what Veterans Day means to him.

Quilts of Valor will also be presented to deserving veterans. Those presentations will be made by area women who stitch the quilts.

The American Legion will present the colors and fire a gun salute at the conclusion of the program.

Other participants  are the high school band, playing patriotic music; the high school choir and students in grades Kindergarten through six who will also perform vocal selections.
