He was able to secure an escape and came close to taking his opponent down a few times.

About Steffans’ accomplishments, Coach Bryan Mueller said, “I know it is tough to end your career with a loss, but Steffans has so much to be proud of. He is the highest place winner from Postville since 2002. Also, this year he was a conference, sectional, and district champion. His record on the year was 50-6. All 6 of his losses came from guys who medaled down at state (1st, 3rd, 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th). In his career, he secured over 100 career wins and was a two-time state qualifier and now he can say he was a state place winner.”
