Steffans goes 1-2 at State Tournament as his losses come at the hands of eventual place winners

This past weekend Postville was represented at the State Wrestling Tournament by 220 pounder Isaac Steffans. 

Steffans, who is a junior, was the runner up at districts the week before. 

Steffans would go 1-2 at State, and both wrestlers he lost to would go on to place 4th and 5th.  Steffans first match was against Brett Schoenherr of Midland. Schoenherr had qualified for state in two previous years. The first minute neither wrestler scored a point. However, Schoenherr was able to secure a take down and pinned Steffans at the end of the first period. 

Coach Mueller said, “Isaac was disappointed after his first match, but did a great job keeping his composure and bouncing back for his second match.”
