Reader’s Theatre chosen to perform at All-State Festival

On February 4, the Postville High School Speech team and their Coach Derek Friederich traveled to Dubuque Senior High to compete in the State Large Group Speech Contest.

At the event, Emma Heins, Andrew Hernandez, Litci Marroquin and Kelsey Mucia performed “Stressed” in the Reader’s Theatre category.

They received the highest rating possible as they received all I ratings from each of the three judges.

Along with the top rating, the group was selected to perform at the All-State Speech Festival in Ames Saturday, February 18.

Prior to their performance in Ames last Saturday, their coach said, “These Postville students will now have the privilege of performing their piece alongside the very best speech groups in the state.”

He added, “This is a very great honor for our speech students and our school. On behalf of Litci, Andrew, Kelsey and Emma, we were very honored to represent Postville at All-State.”
