RC&D representatives participate in TFI Legislative Showcase

Representatives from around the state participated in the TFI Legislative Showcase on January 26, 2016.  Northeast Iowa RC&D sent representatives from the Driftless Area, River Bluffs, Delaware Crossing, and Grant Wood Scenic Byways to share activities happening along the byways in Northeast Iowa.  Senators and Representatives were informed about important tourism and transportation matters affecting byways across the state. 

The issue at the forefront of this year’s event was growing Iowa’s workforce and strengthening economic development in our state. Debi Durham, Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority, along with state representatives, spoke about the import role tourism plays in Iowa’s economic climate.
