Postville Community Support able to purchase 20 cubic foot freezer with grant funding

Postville Community Support, also known by many as the Postville Food Pantry, has recently received a Storage Capacity Grant from the Feeding America Food Association, the University of Northern Iowa Waste Reduction Center and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

With the grant funding they were able to purchase a 20 cubic foot upright freezer from John’s Appliance in Postville. With the additional freezer space, made possible through the grant, the food pantry is able to have more storage for the purchases of food from the Northeast Iowa Food Bank where they purchase a variety of frozen foods such as chicken, bread, turkey, fruits and vegetables.
