Northeast Iowa RC&D to distribute free Radon Kits

January is National Radon Action month. Radon, a naturally occurring radioactive gas, is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States and Iowa is one of the most at-risk states for radon exposure.

Postville residents can test their homes for free with a radon test kit from Northeast Iowa RC & D. Kits will be distributed next month to those who have requested one in advance. To sign up for a kit, log on to ourpostville.com or stop in at the Postville Public Library as they, too, have a sign up sheet.
