Lady Pirates work hard to show improvement daily

The Lady Pirate volleyball team will be led by longtime Postville coach Daryl Schultz this fall.  Although he has not been the head volleyball coach before, Schultz has coached volleyball at the junior high level for nine years.

He said, “I am excited for the season to begin as the players have been working very hard this past week. Our strengths will be our willingness to work hard and our attitude and determination to get better. We have been working on getting in shape, and also on our jumping. I would like us to be able to jump higher than we did last year and hit the ball with more authority.”

The girls will participate in the scrimmage in the Pirate gym this Friday night and will open their season at home on August 21 against Waukon. The ninth grade game begins at 5:30 with junior varsity and varsity to follow.

August 30 they are also at home against Dunkerton.
