With the holidays quickly approaching, the Postville Food Pantry’s needs are increasing

Postville Community Support, also known by many as the Postville Food Pantry,  serves many in need in Postville and the surrounding areas. As the holidays approach, more and more people find themselves unable to provide the basic needs for their families.  The Postville Food Pantry is operated under the auspices of the not-for-profit corporation, Postville Community Support which is governed by a board of directors comprised of area church members, clergy and area residents.

The volunteers and Board of Directors at Postville Community Support are most appreciative of the donations they receive on a regular basis. Each dollar donated buys approximately $10 worth of food at the Northeast Iowa Food Bank in Waterloo.  Currently, as the winter months approach and the children are home for extended periods of time during the holiday vacations for school, the pantry especially needs flour and sugar, peanut butter, canned tuna, fruits and vegetables.  Other items in short supply are rice, beans, whole grains and cereals. These donations are most appreciated as many families struggle to put a balanced meal on the table.
