Grotegut represents PHS at State Wrestling Tournament as he faces two state place winners

Blayze Grotegut, a senior on the Pirate wrestling squad, was the first Postville grappler to compete at the state meet for many years. He wrestled in the 126 pound weight class. Both of his matches were on Thursday evening in the 1A competition.

In his first match, Grotegut wrestled Jacob Krakow from Iowa Valley, a place winner from one year ago. Grotegut scored the first two points of the match as he got a takedown. The match was stopped after one minute as there was an issue with blood. At the restart, Grotegut was able to ride Krakow for a period of time, but ended up getting reversed and pinned.
