Fourth annual Festival of Trees to be held Friday and Saturday at the YMCA Community Room

The Northeast Iowa YMCA will be hosting the fourth annual Festival of Trees at the facility’s Community Room this Friday, November 30 from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, December 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Santa Claus will be making an appearance at the Festival and this would be a great time to snap those much anticipated Christmas card photos. Bring the family to get in the “Merry Mood” Saturday morning. Santa will also be happy to take children’s wish lists directly to the North Pole.

A silent auction will take place as well. Everyone is invited to come and place their bids on favorite items ranging from jewelry, Christmas decor and everything in between. Proceeds from the silent auction will be used for needed equipment at the YMCA. All in attendance may also register for door prizes.

Jennifer Olsen will be leading a canvas painting and/or wood painting class as well. Space is limited so call now if you haven’t already reserved a spot.

A new feature this year, weather permitting, will include horse drawn wagon rides around the community. All rides will begin from outside the YMCA.

Refreshments will be available while you enjoy the beautiful decor. Local businesses and individuals will decorate the trees and displays as they compete for prizes. Prizes will be awarded to the entrants garnering the most votes.
