Food distribution

The National Guard, in conjunction with the local Food Pantry and Northeast Iowa Food Bank, delivered food to Postville residents Monday morning, May 18. Over 90 family units received two large boxes containing  both frozen and canned food products. Although the food distribution did not begin until 9:30 a.m., cars were lining up in the St. Paul Parking Lot before 8:30 and the allotment of food was exhausted before all in line were served. The Postville Food Pantry, which distributes food every week, is open every Tuesday afternoon for those who are in need. Home delivery is also available for those who are not able to come to the site. With the need continuing to be great, volunteers to help with this program are needed. Anyone able to donate a few hours a week should stop by the pantry and offer their services.
