Early morning stabbing occurs at Postville residence

Sunday morning, June 28 at approximately 12:36 a.m., the Postville Police Department was dispatched to 421 West Tilden Street in reference to a domestic dispute.

Following an investigation, officers charged Justin Yoerger, 26, with burglary in the first degree which is a Class “B” felony. Yoerger allegedly entered the occupied residence without permission and refused to leave after occupants ordered him to do so.

While attempting to remove him, a physical altercation ensued and the owner of the residence was stabbed during the altercation and was transported to a medical facility.

Yoerger was arrested on the scene and was also charged with driving while suspended. The investigation is ongoing. The Postville Police Department was assisted by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, the Monona Police Department and the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office.

All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
