Arlin Franzen to lead Castalia Tractor Day Parade with his 1961 Case 830

Arlin Franzen, who lives on Centennial Road in rural Ossian, has recently completed the restoration of the 1961 Case 830 tractor he bought from his father 15 years ago. The 1980 graduate of South Winn High School will lead the Castalia Tractor Day Parade this Sunday, June 9, beginning at noon, on his completed project.

A member of the Winneshiek County Fair Board, Arlin said, “This will be my first time riding in the Castalia parade although we always go. I think it is very important that we keep small towns going by supporting events like these. The Winneshiek County Fair will also have tractors on display at the fairgrounds and they will parade around on the track. I am taking this tractor there too.”

Arlin said that he is looking forward to seeing everyone at the parade and is hoping for beautiful weather and a large crowd as he leads a wide-variety of makes and models of tractors through downtown Castalia.

The Parade begins at noon and will also include walking units, floats, antique cars and much more.
