Allamakee County native Corey Snitker is the new Allamakee County Emergency Management Coordinator

Corey Snitker, who grew up in rural Allamakee County and is a graduate of Waukon High School, has recently been named the Allamakee County Emergency Management Coordinator.

A graduate of Iowa State University, Corey brings much experience to the position. He served seven years in the United States Marine Corps and was a deputy sheriff in Crawford County, Denison, Iowa from 1997-2004. He also served in the Iowa Army National Guard for 13 years.

He said, “I think my experience helped prepare me  as far as multi-tasking and working with the public. Although there is no traditional training, I will be taking online courses to become certified. Much of my training is under FEMA guidelines.”
