“What’s Next?” for Postville to be hosted by Our Postville Project August 8 at the YMCA

Our Postville is a place where the American Dream may be achieved; however, to achieve the goals set out by the Our Postville Project, much cooperation must take place. Cooperation is needed between project coordinators, businesses, and most certainly, the general population.

Northeast Iowa Resource Conservation and Development (RC & D) is coordinating  the Project which has as its vision statement, “Postville is a place where the American Dream can be achieved with opportunities for business, education and recreation, and the cultural and social diversity that contribute to a high quality of life.”

A goal of the project is to create a plan to improve the quality of life for all residents. Much of the renovation and improvement will revolve around downtown business properties.

With that in mind, project coordinator, Nathan Thompson, is hosting a meeting for all interested citizens Wednesday, August 8 at the Northeast Iowa YMCA.

A presentation about planning efforts currently underway will be followed by discussions about how Our Postville can continue to bring the community together to ensure a bright future.

The meeting, which will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. is intended to explain what is happening in Postville. Those in attendance will also be asked to share their thoughts on ways to keep the community moving forward.
